The report highlights important distinctions between the demograpic and economic characteristics of different components of the Black population, an understanding which can help philanthropic organizations better respond to their differing needs. As we focus efforts on racial equity, it is critical to remember that Communities of Color are themselves very diverse, with nuanced backgrounds and ethnic and racial identities.This means there are a range of demographic and economic characteristics within the Black population that can inform racial equity work.
