The Growing Diversity of Black America , released by the Pew Research Center in 2021, explores the rich diversity of racial and ethnic identities of Black Americans. The report highlights important distinctions between the demograpic and economic characteristics of different components of the Black population, an understanding which can help philanthropic organizations better respond to their differing needs. This report summarizes the findings of a fall 2019 survey on the landscape of climate change, health, and equity funding and organizational work. The survey’s purpose is to add to the understanding of the resource gaps, needs, and opportunities in this critical and expanding field.
