Impact Investing Forum: December 2019

Wednesday, December 4, 2019, 2:00 - 4:00 PM

Join us for a discussion with five local experts on the key issues and challenges when using environmental, social & governance (ESG) factors for investment and business decisions. All Philanthropy Colorado members, trustees, and investment committee members are invited to attend this convening.

ESG investing has experienced rapid growth in the past couple of years and represents a fundamental shift across all industries. Its popularity is due partly to evidence showing it leads to risk reduction and outpaced financial performance. Some $12 trillion in assets, or one in every four dollars, are now managed with an ESG screen.

Speakers include: Ed Briscoe (Impact Charitable), Akasha Absher (Syntrinsic Investment Counsel), Rebecca Jackson (Future Value), Alanna Fishman (Cornerstone Government Affairs), and Luis Duarte (Zoma Foundation). View the attachment below for speaker bios.

The Impact Investing Forum provides a space for Philanthropy Colorado members with an active interest in sharing and learning about impact investing trends and emerging models. The group meets periodically to exchange information and to hear from guest speakers on various topics such as social impact bonds and issue areas that can be addressed through alternative forms of investment. Our Impact Invest Forum is currently co-chaired by Sue Dorsey, Vice President for Finance and Administration at Gates Family Foundation, and Ben Bynum, Portfolio Director of Program Related Investments at The Colorado Health Foundation. For more information and to join the Impact listserv, contact Philanthropy Colorado CEO, Joanne Kelley.
