Funder Call on How to Support Innovative Education Responses to COVID-19

Wednesday, June 10, 2020, 3:00 - 4:00 PM

Join Philanthropy Colorado and your colleagues in philanthropy for an opportunity to learn more from participating funders in a collective fund to support innovative education responses to COVID-19 pandemic. In our May 12 COVID-19 Funder Call, experts provided timely updates on the dramatic impact of the pandemic on Colorado's P-20 schools, out of school providers, students, and families in both rural and urban parts of our state and among our most vulnerable populations. At the time, the Education Innovation Fund was being newly created to support K-12 innovation in learning (in and out of school) during these unprecedented times.

In this call, we will follow up on the first round of applications (June 1) of the COVID-19 Education Innovation Fund to dive deeper into the concept and context of this work, initial insights from the applicants, and ongoing opportunities for philanthropic partners to become involved by aligning or contributing funds and for learning and exchange. A future call is being planned with a rural geographic focus. We will be joined by Abby Schaller (Gates Family Foundation) and Tony Lewis (Donnell-Kay Foundation) and others. There will be time for dialogue with our speakers and other funders to share what they are doing in rural and metro parts of the state. Please contact Amy Swiatek at aswiatek@philanthropycolorado.org for more information on this upcoming call.

Log-in information will be sent to registrants prior to the online forum. Please register by Wednesday, June 10 at 10:00am to receive the information for this funders-only forum.
