Colorado's Opioid Crisis: Understanding Challenges, Exploring Solutions

Thursday, October 4, 2018, 8:30 - 11:30 AM

This two-part program for CAF Members will provide an overview of the opioid crisis in Colorado and present funding approaches and ideas for grantmakers.
The first panel will feature experts from the field, discussing what they are seeing in terms of data, trends, and challenges. They will address the following questions:

-Using data, define the opioid crisis in Colorado. What does it mean from your perspective?
-What are the key pieces of information funders need to know?
-What does Colorado need to do in order to turn the tide on this issue?

The second panel will include funders, describing how their organizations are addressing the opioid crisis through grantmaking, strategic initiatives, partnerships, or programming. They will address the following questions:

-What funding approaches have you taken to address the issue?
-How have you learned about the crisis and what research are you using to guide funding?
-What collaborations have you sought out and how are they working?

Following the panels, participants are invited to stay for solution-oriented discussions with funding peers. If you have any questions about this event, please contact Jaser.
