Building a Stronger Colorado Through Intersectional Investments (Luncheon Event)

Thursday, July 11, 2024, 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM

What do health and wellness, youth development, community vitality, social justice, and economic prosperity have in common? They can all be advanced by leveraging the arts. Please join Philanthropy Colorado and colleagues at this luncheon event to explore the data and stories of impact behind healthy communities and economic prosperity and the creative initiatives helping to drive innovation and success for a stronger Colorado.

We are very excited to welcome Colorado Poet Laureate Andrea Gibson and Keynote speaker Randy Cohen, Vice President of Research for Americans for the Arts, to headline our program.

This luncheon is being held at The Colorado Health Foundation.

You will not want to miss the program kick off with a spoken word performance by Colorado Poet Laureate Andrea Gibson. Andrea is hailed as “one of the most stirring and influential spoken word artists of our time,” who tackles sensitive topics with “a sense of hope, awe, and possibility.”

Our coveted keynote speaker, Americans for the Arts’ Randy Cohen has many accomplishments, including the recently published Arts & Economic Prosperity 6: The Economic Impact of Nonprofit Arts & Culture Organizations and their Audiences, a national public opinion study about the arts. Randy led the development of the National Arts Index, the annual measure of the health and vitality of arts in the United States, and the National Arts Policy Roundtable, an annual leadership convening to advance American culture. He worked with the U.S. Department of Justice to produce the YouthARTS Project, the first national study to document the statistically significant impact of arts programming on at-risk youth. He was recognized in 2024 for outstanding advocacy on behalf of the performing arts in America.
