Job Description: 

Rose Community Foundation seeks an Accounting Associate to support the activities of the Administration and Finance department, which broadly focuses on supporting the overall needs of the organization. The Accounting Associate is a member of the Administration and Finance Department and works most closely with the Controller and the Accounting and Benefits Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting  

  • Prepare cash and check deposits
  • Assist with research into payments and cash deposit
  • Provide support during annual audit
  • Manage and monitor all aspects of corporate credit card-related activities, accounting and expense report reconciliation
  • Administer weekly check run and electronic payments
  • Manage vendor records, W-9 and filing of annual 1099 reports

Financials/Budget 

  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts 
  • Review and prepare monthly financials and budget variance reports 
  • Provide accounting support for Foundation projects and initiatives 

Miscellaneous 

  • File annual property taxes and reports 
  • Review and post incoming gifts 
  • Serve as backup support for the accounting department 
  • Other duties as assigned 

SUPERVISION
The Accounting Associate reports to the Controller and provides accounting support for the work of the Administration and Finance team.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Required:

  • Some professional accounting work experience 
  • Proactive with a solution-oriented mindset 
  • Planning and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and track multiple deadlines 
  • Verbal and written communication skills 
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality 
  • Proficient user of technology, particularly Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams and Zoom. Highly skilled with Microsoft Excel.  
  • Experience with accounting software 
  • Commitment to the Foundation’s core values and culture 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree and/or equivalent life and professional experience 
  • Education or Professional focus in accounting, business, math or finance 
  • Experience working effectively across different settings, communities and issues – with people of diverse backgrounds, perspectives and cultures 
  • Lived experiences and/or personal understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion and a commitment to incorporating them into daily work

SALARY & BENEFITS
This full-time, exempt position’s hiring range is $50,000 to $60,000. Offered salary is commensurate with internal equity and salary ranges, local and national sector benchmarks and candidate’s relevant qualifications, experience and skills. WORKPLACE
Fully renovated office with a collaborative environment located in a building with a café, gym, secure indoor bike parking, covered employee parking and convenient access to parks and trails. We operate on a structured hybrid model where staff work in the office/community three days per week and have the option to work remotely two days per week. Please note that the Foundation expects all team members to be fully vaccinated (including boosters, if eligible) against COVID-19.
